| Team Shibuya dominates Yankton! |
| Yankton,
SD, 7/22-30th 2011 |
| |
Yankton,
south Dakota
belonged to archery for a week, as the USAA Field Nationals, NFAA Field
Nationals, and the World Hoyt Open (USAA Target National Target
Nationals) all in a row!
First up was the USAA Field National Championships, which ended with
Ultima CPX and Shibuya 29mm scope shooter Kevin
Wilkey tied for 2nd, losing out by only the 6+5
count to claim the bronze medal. He had only a 1 point lead on 4th
place winner Logan
Wilde, also shooting a CPX and 29mm Scope!
Adding
another title to his list of achievements, Brady Ellison scored the
gold medal in the Men's recurve division using his Ultima Recurve Rests!
In the NFAA Field Nationals, consisting of a Field, Hunter, and a
Animal target round, Kevin
started out with a 555, but then followed up with a PERFECT Hunter
round on the second day! He is only the 6th person in history to
achieve this feat. Needless to say, this gave him a head start into the
Animal round, which he finished with a 584 to claim his second bronze
medal of the event.
Joining him in the podium ranks was medal regular Christie
Colin, who had to give up the gold to another
american archer - but only by one point!
Archery
legends Frank and Becky Pearson also claimed the silver medals in their
respective categories with their Ultima CPX sights and 29mm scopes!
Last but not least, Yankton was host to the World Hoyt Open and
USAA Target
National Championships, consisting of a FITA Single round and a
tournament to decide the winners - and again Shibuya Shooters were on
the podium in almost every category! Christie
Colin
qualified 3rd but worked her way up all the way to the gold final,
where she ended up tied - keeping her nerves, Christie scored a solid
10 to win the tiebreaker shootoff, claiming the gold medal in the
prestigious competition.
Kevin
Wilkey
scored 1392 points to qualify 10th, but worked his way up til the
semifinal, where he was taken out by the second place winner - Kevin
then made a comeback in the small final to claim his third bronze medal
of the event!
And finally, Brady Ellison proved that he is at
the very top of the US archery world, marching all the way to the top
to claim his second gold medal of the weekend.
Congratulations to all successful archers in Yankton!

Shibuya
Shooters dominate the World
Archery Championships in Torino
|

|
World
Archery reported record numbers of attendance for the World
Championships - 562 competitors from 84 nations were fighting for the
gold medals in the historic town.
But it was Team Shibuya that stood
above the rest: Archers using Shibuya's Ultima series sights won every
single recurve and compound individual and mixed team gold medal, as
well as 6 in the team events. That makes for a total of 14
out of
20, or 70% of all gold medals!
Ultima CPX and Shibuya 29mm Scope user Christopher
Perkins
took out the reigning World Champion on the Final, where he faced
another high profile American archer! Chris kept his cool and only
dropped two points in the final round, standing victorious as the new
World Champion!
In the women's compound division, reigning World Champion Albina
Loginova
proved that she is on top of her game once again by repeating her
performance from the last Championships - leaving her opponents no
chance in her progresssion towards the top of the podium.

Not only the
individual medals were dominated by Team Shibuya: World Cup Champion Sergio
Pagni lead the charge on the Mixed Team medals
- Team Shibuya won all 4 gold medals in this event!
In the women's compound division, Ultima CPX and 29mm Scope shooter Christie
Colin led the USA team to their first gold
medal since 2003!
Congratulations to all the successful archers at the 2011 World
Championships!
